What is PPF?

Paint protection film is a thick, clear urethane film applied directly to your vehicle's painted surfaces. It absorbs impact from rock chips, road debris, bug splatter, and UV rays — the everyday hazards that slowly destroy your paint. Unlike wax or ceramic coating, PPF provides a physical barrier between the road and your clear coat.

Modern PPF is self-healing: minor surface scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat (sunlight or warm water), keeping the film looking clear and optically flat. When installed by a trained technician, it's virtually invisible.

Self-healing in action: Run warm water or park in the sun after a car wash and watch light scratches disappear. The urethane film returns to its original shape when heated — no compound, no polish, no effort.

Coverage options

Call for pricing

We offer three levels of PPF coverage depending on how much of your vehicle you want protected. Not sure which is right for you? Call us — we'll talk through your driving habits and help you decide.

Partial PPF

The most impacted zones: front bumper, hood leading edge, mirrors, door edges, and rocker panels. Best entry point for daily drivers who want real protection without covering the whole car.

Full front PPF

Extended coverage across the full hood, front fenders, bumper, and mirrors. Recommended for highway commuters and anyone putting serious miles on a newer vehicle.

Full vehicle PPF

Every painted panel protected. Preferred for luxury vehicles, rare paint colors, and collectors who want their vehicle to stay factory-new indefinitely.

PPF + ceramic combo

Film installed first, ceramic coating applied on top. Maximizes protection, gloss, hydrophobic performance, and ease of cleaning. Our most complete protection package.

PPF vs. ceramic coating

These two products are often confused — they do very different things and work best together, not as substitutes for each other.

PPF protects against

  • Rock chips and road debris impact
  • Bug splatter and chemical etching
  • UV damage and paint fade
  • Minor abrasions and scratches
  • Door dings and light contact

Ceramic coating adds

  • Hydrophobic water beading
  • Enhanced gloss and depth
  • Easier washing and maintenance
  • Contaminant resistance
  • Longer-lasting surface protection

Bottom line: PPF stops physical damage. Ceramic coating makes your vehicle easier to maintain and look better. If you can only do one, do PPF first — you can always add ceramic on top.

Common questions

Can PPF go over a wrap?

Yes. PPF can be installed over a color change wrap to protect the vinyl itself from damage, chips, and abrasion. This is popular on wraps with premium or matte finishes.

How long does PPF last?

Most premium films carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty. With proper care — hand washing, no harsh chemicals — film can last well beyond that.

Will it yellow over time?

Older PPF was known to yellow. Modern films from XPEL and 3M are formulated with UV inhibitors that prevent yellowing and maintain optical clarity for the life of the film.

Can it be removed?

Yes. PPF is removable. When removed properly by a trained technician, it should not damage the paint underneath — provided the paint was in good condition at installation.

Does my paint need to be prepped first?

Yes. We inspect the paint before installation. Any chips, scratches, or paint defects under the film will be preserved (not corrected) by the film. We'll flag anything we notice before we start.

How do I care for it after install?

Wait 48 hours before washing. Use pH-neutral soap and avoid high-pressure washing directly at film edges. No wax or oil-based products on top — use a ceramic spray if you want added protection.
